Fall is just around the corner! As the weather shifts, it’s a great time to look at what’s ahead in design and color for the upcoming season. It can be fun and easy to make a few changes around the house.
Here are a few of my favorites decorating tips for fall:
1. Warmer Hues
Ready for color? You are in luck! Rich greens, black, brown and blush are a welcome change. It’s easy to incorporate these hues into bedding, furniture and accents. In the shop, Amsterdam Green Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan is a popular choice for side tables and dressers. Antoinette Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan is a warm grown up, blushy pink that would be a perfect pop of color in a neutral setting.
2. Brass Accents
Aged brass accents can warm up a space with just a few small touches. Try this instead of copper or rose gold.
Velvet can warm up a room during cooler months and adds texture. Pair it with rough woven textures and smooth clay surfaces for lots of visual interest. Adding a velvet throw or pillow is a great low commitment option.
4. Woven Textures
Woven textures bring depth to a room. Add some woven texture by hanging baskets on walls or placing a plant in wicker.
5. Layer up with a Quilt
Quilts add a layer of coziness as the temperature begins to drop. They add an element of a handmade feel to a room. Look for quilts with hand blocked patterns.
