Over the last several months, I’ve been able to do something that I haven’t done since having children…drum roll please…WORK OUT. Pre-children, I was a gym rat and loved indulging a few times a week in kickboxing, step or aerobics classes. As new moms, our priorities change and our children’s needs usually get put before our own…for me, that meant that working out consistently was put on the back burner. 

Through a series of health related trials over the last year and a half, I came to realize that THIS mama could not pour from an empty cup any longer. I knew that I HAD to invest in myself. One of the many missing pieces was taking the time to get my body back on track with physical activity. 

Gold’s Gym has been an amazing blessing in my life and their group fitness classes have provided a great challenge for me and have taught me so much! Do you ever feel intimidated when walking into a gym? I did! But one of the beautiful things about walking into a class with an instructor is that they walk you through every movement, every stretch and make sure your form is correct so you don’t hurt yourself. They also provide a huge challenge and right when you want to throw in the towel, the instructor is there to push you a little further. Another huge bonus about group fitness classes is that you can put it on your calendar and PLAN to be there on a specific date and time. (I’m a HUGE “plan ahead” kind of person, so this helps me set aside the time and stick to my commitment! If you want more of a “kick in the pants” to stick to your commitment, find a friend that will meet you there! It’s harder for me to flake when I know someone is counting on me!)

Gold’s Gym offers a great selection of classes to fit anyone’s fitness level and interest. Here are a few that are offered regularly:

  • Yoga

  • Zumba

  • Cycling

  • Body Combat

  • Grit Cardio

  • Barre (Personal FAV!)

  • Body Pump (Another personal FAV that incorporates amazing weight lifting techniques that you can carry with you for a lifetime!)

  • Aqua Zumba
