The Muse Knoxville Coordinates the Local Tennessee STEAM Festival Events for 2017

If you are looking for educational and family-friendly fun, you won’t want to miss the Tennessee STEAM Festival 2017!

Coordinated in East Tennessee by the Muse Knoxville, the first ever Tennessee STEAM Festival will take place October 12-22. This festival aims to ignite curiosity and inspire interest in STEAM areas – science, technology, engineering, art and math. From blooming imaginations to experienced minds, Tennesseans of all ages will have the opportunity to interact with scientists, engineers, designers and other experts at fun, immersive events.

The festival offers more than 30 events across East Tennessee local businesses, universities, schools and neighborhoods. Some of these signature events include STEAM in the City, ORNL Traveling Science Fair, Family STEAM Night at West Town Mall and Way Late Play Date: Marvel v. DC. In partnership with the Muse Knoxville, key sponsorships that have made these events possible include TVA, Lowes, ORNL, Arconic, KnoxMakers, Graham Corporation, Schulz Brau, Smoke-Free Knoxville and Fletcher Marketing PR.

To cap off the STEAM Festival, the Muse Knoxville is hosting the STEAM Carnival Family Fun Day on October 21. The carnival will be held 10am – 2pm at the Muse (516 North Beaman Street). This family-friendly carnival will inspire all ages with hands-on activities, play and fun! Activities include a magic show, live music, science demos, arts and crafts, special characters and more. The event is rain or shine, and admission is free for all ages!

The Muse Knoxville is a non-profit children’s science museum located in Historic Chilhowee Park. With more than 4,000 square feet of educational play spaces and the area’s only public access planetarium, you are sure to find something to inspire a lifelong love of learning!
