A Fun Night Out with Wine & Canvas Knoxville {Review}

0

As a mom, what could be more fun than getting out for an evening with the girls and maybe having a glass of wine? Drinking AND painting, that’s what! For our most recent Knoxville Moms Blog Contributor Team get-together, we had the opportunity to try out Wine & Canvas, a business that travels to local restaurants and sets up shop for want-to-be-artists and artists alike.

wnc2While some of these BYOB painting companies have their own studio, Wine & Canvas is unique in that you actually get to enjoy your outing at a local restaurant. Every month, they create a new calendar with a variety of paintings to choose from on different days during the month, and all of them take place at great local restaurants.

For our outing, we had the chance to dine & drink at Mimi’s Café in Turkey Creek, but we were in for a surprise with our painting. When we arrived, rows of canvases were lined up along two sets of tables, aprons draped over the backs of the chairs and menus situated right underneath each of the canvases. And right at the very front of the room were two canvases, a tree scene with a little yellow bird and a blank one for the instruction.

The instructor walked us through our “tools” and the process of what we would be doing throughout the evening, and after placing our drink and food orders, we were ready to begin. The instructor was great about demonstrating the techniques of each part of the painting and even encouraged us to stray from the original design if we wanted to. After all, the painting is going home with you at the end of the night so make it your own!

The entire process takes about three hours, and admittedly, it is a little hard to eat while you are so busy chatting it up with the girls and being a creative genius. But between the food, drinks, company and creativity, it’s an experience that I recommend everyone try! In fact, I’m already planning another Wine & Canvas outing for a date night with the husband! Make sure to check out their calendar for all upcoming events. A big thank you to the fabulous Brianna Leigh Photography for capturing the night!
