In addition to serving up scrumptious pies, Marco’s Pizza in Knoxville is committed to giving back to the community, especially through supporting our local schools. From sponsoring billboards for the school’s football team, to hosting school spirit days and rewarding the winning classes with a pizza party, to donating a portion of sales to the school, Marco’s Pizza stays involved in a number of different ways. Most recently, they held a blood drive giving away a free pizza to each person that donated a pint of blood.
If you can’t wait to get your hands on some Marco’s Pizza, you’re in luck! Everyone is invited to Kids First — a fundraising event for A.L. Lotts, Blue Grass, Northshore and Rocky Hill Elementary Schools on May 16 from noon – 3 p.m. Each school’s principal will be competing in a pizza eating competition to win the most money for his or her school. The event will be held at the new Marco’s on Ebenezer Road.
More than 15 local businesses have contributed to be in attendance, and the collective pot will be distributed between all four schools, with the winning school receiving the biggest portion.
But the principals won’t be the only ones with something fun to do. There will also be a kids’ box folding competition, dough making, a dunking booth and a bounce house. Slices of pizza – cheese or pepperoni – will be available for $2, and beverages for $1.
Marco’s Pizza just opened their 7th Knoxville area location at 1601 Ebenezer Road. To celebrate, they want to share their delicious, Ah!thentic Italian pizza with one lucky winner.
