Birthdays are a big deal. Not just for your little ones, but for you too, Momma! After all, YOU brought that beautiful child of yours into this world, so why not slide an extra piece of cake onto that plate of yours? Celebrate too! Knoxville has a terrific list of venues to host your next birthday celebration, everything from farms to museums to a trampoline park. Prices vary widely depending upon how many children are in attendance so make sure to check with each venue to find out about detailed pricing.
Animals/Farms
Do you have an animal or outdoor enthusiast in your household? One of these locations might just make the perfect birthday party venue! Whether it’s lions, tigers, and bears (oh my!) at the Knoxville Zoo or your princess’ very own Pony Party, Knoxville has enough animal-friendly locations to take your kids on their very own safari!
Arcades, Bowling, Laser Tag, Paintball and Putt-Putt
Birthdays are all fun and games, no really. ALL fun and games! So why not take the work out of planning that fun and those games and have your child’s birthday at one of these awesome locations? Whether it’s laser tag, putt-putt or paintball, your kid is going to be a classroom hit when they invite their friends!
Battlefield Knoxville – laser tag and video games
Chuck E. Cheese – games/arcade
Farragut Putt-Putt Golf & Games – putt-putt, batting cages and games/arcade
Gatti’s Pizza (multiple locations) – games/arcade
Sir Goony’s – putt-putt, splash zone, paintball, and go-karts
Strike & Spare Bowling (multiple locations)
Art
If you have a mini Jackson Pollock at home, you might want to consider one of these when choosing the perfect studio for your artist. Pottery. Check. Painting. Check. Eating glue sticks. Double check!
Knoxville Arts & Fine Crafts Center
Unique Technique Painting Parties
Food and Cooking
And if you want to try to keep your kid away from eating glue sticks (see Art above), maybe cupcakes would be more your preference. And let’s face it, what mother wouldn’t be all about a chocolate factory or a cupcake house for their kid’s next birthday. Sign me up!
Menchie’s (multiple locations)
Museums
Some kids just aren’t into all the action and adventure and prefer to have their nose in a book (can I get some pointers?). Maybe you should consider having their next birthday at one of Knoxville’s great museums.
American Museum of Science & Energy
Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge
Parks
If you have a child that’s about to turn one or two, sometimes a park is just the most practical option. After all, they aren’t likely to remember ponies or skee-ball, but you will remember picking the perfect theme and your blank pavilion canvas to decorate as you see fit! (Ahem, you’re welcome!)
Knoxville Parks and Recreation
Town of Farragut Pavilion Rentals
Pools
Is there anything better than a pool party? (Maybe if said pool was filled with ice cream and chocolate syrup, but I digress.) If you are trying to decide where to have a birthday party, pools are always a safe bet for hours of fun, and you will thank yourself later when they crash and burn for bedtime.
Adaptive Center Pool (Indoor)
Allan Jones Aquatic Center at UT
Elmer Brine Pool (Indoor)
YMCA (Multiple locations)
Sports/Gymnastics/Dancing/Inflatables
If you have a Tasmanian devil at home, like me, this should be your go-to list for birthday party venues. Dancing, running, tumbling, bouncing, skating—Knoxville has so many great options for an active indoor birthday party. Just remember to invite me…I mean, us.
Knoxville Ice Bears Hockey Game
Knoxville Twisters Cheer & Tumbling
River Sports Outfitters Climbing Center
Tataru’s Gymnastics & Tumbling
The Zone Sports Complex – inflatables and/or sports field party
Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame
Other Fun Adventures
If you are looking for something a little different or a little more grand, consider renting a game truck from the convenience of your own home or having a boat party. No matter what you choose, your kid is going to love you for throwing “the best birthday ever.”
Bricks 4 Kidz Creativity Center
Do you have a favorite birthday party location we didn’t list?

So this is a GREAT list!!! Definitely holding on to it. That Remedy treehouse is awesome!
Bricks 4 Kidz in Franklin Square
Wine and Canvas Knoxville has mobile painting classes for adults and children. The child-aged classes are called “Cookies and Canvas”.
love bus is super fun and different!!
Perhaps for those moms that think birthday parties are overrated (and expensive!) try having your children give back by serving alongside water angels, love kitchen or on Mondays at the UMC on Cherry Street. I think as a whole, the kids these days think we as parents owe them this huge elaborate party. But for a serving of humble pie, take your child out of that cookie cutter and let them serve the cake. Heck, take your child to a special breakfast (place of their choice), pick up a cake at Sam’s Club and head on down to the underpass near the mission. Serve cake to people who otherwise wouldn’t get cake. Make lasting memories that don’t require much planning or cost.
Thanks for the replies everyone! Ceri, maybe I will turn your idea into an entirely new blog post. I actually already have some great ideas for it.
That sounds wonderful Caitlan. It’s on my list of things to write about as well.
Halls Cinema 7 us a great option as well. There’s a party room and a movie w popcorn and drink are all included!
Fort Imagination in Bearden is AMAZING! The venue is beautiful and creative and they have tons of themes and offer packages that include decor so you don’t have to spend a fortune on decorations! They’ll do all of the work for you so you simply arrive and enjoy your party! It’s by far the BEST party we’ve ever done!!
