DIY Thankful Tree

3

It’s pretty easy to get caught up in the speed and chaos of life. I pretty much live in a state of stress most days. I’m not proud of that fact, but it is what it is. It’s so easy to focus on the negative things in our lives and forget to acknowledge the awesome things. We were having a pretty stressful morning here in the LaValley house and I just really needed the day to get better. So I took my almost three year old outside to collect sticks to make a Thankful Tree. It’s such an easy project (literally took about 15 minutes to throw together) and it made me feel so much better. It was so funny hearing what my big boy is thankful for. If you’re wondering, he’s thankful for monkeys, rabbits, and strawberries. Ha! It’s the little things, right? With Thanksgiving right around the corner, this would be a great project to do with your family! Here’s how it’s done.

1. Gather supplies.

All you need are a couple of sticks, Behr paint sample leafs in the color pallette of your choice (I found mine at Home Depot), some string or twine, and a vase.

2. Punch the little leafs out and pull the twine through the holes.

3. Write down what you’re thankful for and tie the leaf around the tree!

I had some of my instagrams printed by foxgram and thought they’d be a perfect addition to the tree. I think they look pretty fantastic up there with our leaves. And there you go! Such an easy and fun project to do with the family! If you decided to make a tree, please share your photos on our facebook wall! We’d love to see!
