DIY Mom’s Night Out with The Home Depot {MNO Recap}

Sometimes it’s fun to throw on a pair of jeans, power up the circular saw, and hang out some of your girlfriends, right? That’s just what we did in late June at our DIY MNO at The Home Depot, where we learned how to make a raised garden bed! The Home Depot provided us with a super-friendly and knowledgeable instructor who walked us step-by-step through the whole process.

During the interactive presentation {check out some of the ladies in action!}, we were treated to a yummy dinner, refreshing drinks, and desert catered by Chick-fil-A.

The garden bed construction was followed by an informative Q&A session, during which we shared gardening tips and tricks, and discussed the benefits of composting and seasonal crop selection, among other things. Nearly every attendee walked away with a fantastic giveaway, including three raised garden beds, tomato and herb plants, tiki torches, gardening accessories, vegetable seeds, and all received a The Home Depot re-useable bags filled goodies!

Special thanks to Brianna Leigh Photography for photographing the event, and The Home Depot for hosting us on such a fun night!

If you missed this MNO, don’t worry as we’ve got some great things in the works. In October we will be celebrating KMB’s ONE year birthday with a big bash and in November we’ll be hosting a Thanksgiving themed MNO. We’re also hosting a kid’s workshop at The Home Depot on Tuesday, September 16th at 10 AM. We hope to see you at these events!

In March 2011 my life changed in the most dramatic and wonderful way possible: I became a mom to my vivacious, inquisitive, sweet, fun-loving, exuberant little man. A week after my son’s birth, my husband received a job offer we could not refuse from the University of Tennessee. And so, in July 2011, we said goodbye to the life we’d created in the coastal paradise of Santa Barbara, California, and began carving out a new bit of paradise for ourselves in Knoxville. In March 2013, just over two years after the birth of our son, we welcomed our beautiful and equally amazing daughter. Together with my loving and supportive husband, my children have taught me to slow down and enjoy the moments life gives us. It is with them and thanks to them, that I feel truly happy and at peace.
