Turning 240 is *kind of* a big deal, and we’ve put together a list of activities and entertainment to help you celebrate America’s birthday around our city!

Dolly’s Night of Many Colors, Sevierville

Synchronized to music each evening. Head to Timber Canyon 15 minutes prior to the fireworks for an energetic and entertaining pre-show!

  • Adventures In Imagination between Dolly’s Closet and Dreamsong Theater

$5 admission for ages 6+

Come celebrate Hamblen County’s Traditional Party in the Park 4th of July Celebration presented by Food City. This year’s event features headliner Craig Campbell, The Highwaymen Live (A Tribute to Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings), and The Rick Hodge Band. Other activities for the day include, Lakeway Idol, games, food (available for purchase), and a 20 minute firework display.

Gates open at 2pm and Lakeway Idol Competition to begin at 3pm.

Join Faith Promise Church at Maple Lane Farms as we celebrate Independence Day. During the event the following items will be offered free of cost to everyone who attends: Inflatables Euro Jump, Mechanical Bull, Wipeout Course, Survivor Obstacle Course, Fireworks Show by Pyro Shows, popcorn and water, parking, and live bluegrass music from The Holloway Sisters Blue Grass Band. Food can be purchased from local food truck vendors or you can bring a picnic. (Food Truck Vendors for the event: Big O’s Famous BBQ, Breezy Weenie Pub Grub, Checkered Board Cheese, Dale’s Fried Pies, Holy Smoking BBQ, The Lunch Box, Amazing Pizza Company, Cruze Farm Milk Truck, Pella’s Ice Cream Truck, Smokey Mountain Snow, Sweet Cheeks Treats) This year’s fireworks show will be dedicated to the memory of Bob Schmidt, owner and operator of Maple Lane Farms.

First Independence Day Parade in the Nation, Gatlinburg

Gatlinburg hosts their 41st annual First Parade of Independence Day right at midnight (be sure to arrive early for a good spot as the Parkway is blocked off beginning at 11pm July 3)!


Farragut’s 29th Annual Independence Day Parade

July 4, 9:30am

The parade will begin on Kingston Pike at Lendon Welch Way (Farragut High School entrance) and continue to Boring Road, just east of Farragut Towne Square Shopping Center (old Ingles store site). Visit Town of Farragut for full details.


Museum of Appalachia Independence Day Celebration & Anvil Shoot, Clinton

July 4, 9am-6pm

Free with day’s admission

Spend Independence Day celebrating the old-fashioned way. The museum opens for visitors at 9am and the July 4th fun kicks off at 2pm with a bell-ringing ceremony. Other activities include the Liberty Pole raising and anvil shoots throughout the day.

River Raft Regatta, Gatlinburg

Per the event’s page: This year’s fun-filled Fourth of July celebration in Gatlinburg will feature the always-competitive River Raft Regatta, the unmanned kind.

Anything floatable can be entered starting at 10am at the Christ in the Smokies bridge on River Road and will end at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies. There are two categories: Trash (not hand-made) and Treasure (hand-made) – awards will go to the top three in each category. Additionally, the “Judges Choice” award will go to the most creative “raft.” Awards will be given to the oldest and the youngest participant. Registration begins at 10am and the race will start at 12pm. Trophies will be supplied by the Gatlinburg Recreation Department.


Sons of the American Revolution Celebration, Knoxville

July 4, 10am-12pm

Free to the public, donations accepted.

This annual observance of Independence Day is in cooperation with the Sons of the Revolution, The Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Children of the Revolution. Activities include a flag ceremony, reading of the Signers of the Declaration and a short speech. Refreshments will be served.


Marble Springs 4th of July “Let Freedom Ring,” Knoxville

July 4, 10am-4pm

Marble Springs State Historic Site

Free to the public, donations appreciated

Marble Springs State Historic Site will host a Bell Ringing ceremony, in collaboration with the General Henry Knox Chapter of the Sons of the Revolution and local reenacting community. Activities will also include a freedom pole and a long hunter camp.

Pigeon Forge Patriot Fest

July 4, 12-10pm

Free admission

The musical guests this year are Joe Diffie, taking the stage at 8pm. Food vendors and the free kids’ Karnival will open at noon and entertainment will begin at 1:30pm throughout the day until the grand finale – a celebratory fireworks show illuminating the sky over the majestic Smoky Mountains.

Festival on the 4th, Knoxville

Spend your 4th in a kid-friendly atmosphere with tons to do including a kids’ area, live music from Kelsey Woods and Fourkast, and good eats (available for purchase). The night will end with thehere and a fireworks finale.


Oak Ridge Independence Day Concert and Firework Show

The Oak Ridge Community Band will put on a concert followed by the annual Oak Ridge City Fireworks Display. Bring your lawn chair or blanket for outdoor seating. Concert begins at 7pm.

The final leg of Gatlinburg’s 4th festivities is a 20 minute firework display, best viewed from spots around stoplights #3 and #5 on the Parkway.
